To Boil or not to Boil
Princess Angel Petal is over 1 now (thanks to all for the suggestions on presents, we bought her some bath toys and that drum thing which she loves!) so we apparently need not sterilise her bottles anymore (though Mrs OBonio is having trouble getting used to that idea).
However, the Formula we use (we're trying to get her onto milk) says the water still needs to be boiled and cooled. Is this true? I can't see why the water needs to be boiled if we don't need to sterilise the bottles...
Any advice much appreciated :o)

Its up to you. After about 10 months i gave my son formula made with tap water as he was drinking tap water and cooled boiled water would not kill of any germs in a bottle anyway.
I also gradually stopped sterilising bottles and did half and half for about 2 weeks.
Hes now 13 months old and we managed to just change to cows milk overnight, no gradual change im pleased to say and life is so much easier.

I really wouldnt bother used boiled water. As I have said before I stopped sterilising things and using boiled water when I was in the kitchen one day sterilising bottles and found my son was in the hall licking mud of his pram wheels.
I really think people are WAY to stressed out about germs these days. (Obviously you have to be clean but...)

If she is playing in the garden, going on aparatus in the park, crawling around the floor, playing with presumably non-steralised toys and putting them in her mouth then you don't need to steralise anymore.
My baby had formular up to two as she was lactose allergic and I have to say while I didn't steralise her cup, I did boil the water purely because I could never get it to mix properly if I used cold water.
No one should drink water from the hot tap as it doesn't come off the rising main, you can only drink from the cold tap and like I say, I could never the milk to mix up properly with cold water and the thought of drinking cold formular made me feel sick so I always warmed it for her anyhow.

get your Angel used to the water she is going to be drinking all her life. It is absolutely fine at her age; as you will have discovered in a year babies are a lot tougher than they might look and at 1 she will be able to cope without sterilising.
