Why do we still use titles such as Ms,Mrs, Mr? Surely they are now redundant.

I don't find them offensive, btw, I don't mind what people use for me, I just leave it blank myself on forms, or if people ask, I just say my first and surname, that's enough really.

I agree with maydup, why should i be asked if im married when, for example, ordering something? My husband is not.
There is need for some titles, i think but a general one for ladies like there is for men (Mr / Sir) would suffice.
When i started work in the 80s, we called all managers by Mr, Mrs or Miss X never by their first name.
