I doubt it. Some people are just more OTT than others. You do get cases where people are civil to each other.

It was probably a bit of both Sqad.. People naturally dramatic and extra but told not to hold back on emotiveness by the producer.

At the TV show I went to, there was a production team member who was giving instructions to the audience ,about when to cheer , clap, boo, shout etc. He was out of view of the cameras but in front of the audience ! I am certain the Gay guy was either 'put up to it' or more likely was an actor 'planted ' in the audience to cause more interest for viewers. Planting a few actors / actresses in the audience is standard procedure for TV shows.
