I recently planted a cherry tree in a pot in my conservatory. Now there looks to be quite a bit of room in the pot so I was wondering if there were any herbs I could plant in the pot too to aid the cherry tree - bearing in mind this is inside so nothing attracting bees or insects on this occasion please

TIA

Probably won't get cherries without insects to pollinate it. I can't advise on herbs to help the tree; try basil for your own pleasure, maybe dwarf nasturtiums for their tasty salad leaves, maybe rocket ditto.
Don't plant anything if it is in a pot, it won't do well with competition from other plants.

Well I’ve only had it a couple of months (£5 from pound stretcher) I’ve potted it up and it’s in leaf, I’m going to trim it down late summer (it’s approx 5.5 feet now) - I want approx 4 foot and bushy though
Atheist is right, no point having a cherry tree and keeping the insects away. What will aid the cherry tree is insects not other plants....for prettiness, you could plant some shallow rooted annuals.
I'm not sure if adding herbs to the pot would have any benefits, so i'd say go with your personal preference. I can't imagine any herbs being companion plants for a cherry tree.

Perhaps not whilst in a pot though ? Maybe once out in the garden.
