Do Some Young People Choose To Act Stupid, Or Are They Really That Stupid?

I've been watching a few reality tv shows that I don't normally watch (Dinner Date, Come Dine With Me, Botched) and cannot believe some of things that some of the younger people have said:

I was dating a girl from Wales but dumped her after Brexit as I knew she'd have to leave the country. "But Wales is in the UK!" Well, I know that now!

Who's Winston Churchill? You mean that nodding dog in the advert?

What do you mean, South Pole? There's no such thing - there can't be, cos I've never heard of it.

Trying to follow a recipe. What's tbsp? What's tsp?

I can't help but think this is an act because they think it is somehow cute or attractive. I work with young people and have never encountered this level of ignorance.

Lol...Pixie :-)

I always thought my daughter was a little bit dense (in a nice way) turns out she's not. It's just things we presume people should know, but if they're not told it, how would they know?

My mum bought us a book of countries and challenged us to memorise every capital city in Europe. We did it. She used to test us (as fun, not dictatorship)
No,arky, sadly not :-)
My oldest son is very intelligent , with no common sense whatsoever, and must daughter said "you have to be so brainy to act that retarded". I kind of understood what she meant :-)
Lol again, Pixie.
:-)
My daughter once asked me if Northampton was in London! It was a serious question!! Her younger brothers just shook their heads.
I once booked a taxi company (4 months early... so they had plenty of time...) who believed that Devon was somewhere in London. We held them to their price too.
Was this before SatNavs?
It was a few years ago, but we had Google at least.
Adults are stupid as well. OH was going to a stag do in Cornwall. He phoned me from Coventry because the driver had forgot to turn off 'avoid motorways'

It took them 9 hours to get there :-D
Lol :-)
Coventry is north from where we live. I found it funny.

Spelling and grammar are in a different class.

My local Freecycle and Gumtree regularly advertise three peace sweets of chester draws.
One of my friends (45) genuinely thought they were called "Chester drawers".
I had to slap her :-)
We were on holiday in Montego Bay, and my niece asked her father if he would buy her a radio. He told her that she already had radios at home. She then told him that she liked Jamaican music and would like to listen to it when they got back!

Well obviously you need a reggae radio to listen to reggae :D
hc..that is so funny.
A colleague of mine, aged 60, thought they were Chester drawers. I didn’t have the heart to point out the error.
