Ask the question 'If he was a bit swarthy and brandishing a scimitar threatening death to the infidel' atop a train would he be a terrorist? If yes then this bawbag is a terrorist.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the first angle they looked at. It seems however that it was a Brexiter, and it's a little bit of a stretch to see Brexit as terrorism.

It seems to have inflamed passions with deadly results. Remember Jo Cox?
No.
Just who,exactly, was terrorised? A selfish inconvenience and trespass on Railway property? Yes. I think this individual would of been dealt more quickly and more robustly if terror was involved. For someone who lives in Belfast you have a strange view as to what constitutes a terrorist act.
depends on the person's intent.
// depends on the person's intent//
no too braynee

terrorism .... or witchcraft ...... or evidence of life on Jupiter? - or evidence of a Superior Intelligence at work - call X files!

now THAT is more like AB !
Question Author
Retrocop,
in NI terrorism didn't need to be a gun or a bomb.
If you lived in a 'mixed area' and woke one morning to find your house daubed with sectarian slogans, you might decide it was time to move. You've been terrorised.
This Brexiteer set out to disrupt with a political motive. Is he not a terrorist?
doing something with a political motive does fit the definition of terrorism (*)
I havent looked up the actual blah-de-blah - this is AB after all

terrorism act 2006 or 2007 or 2008.... no that isnt GMT those are years ( see other thread)
Question Author
Okay.
I'm thinking that this nascent right-wing thuggery needs to be reminded that actions have consequences.
Remember the riots of a few years ago when boys and girls got 4 year sentences for taking a bottle of water from a looted shop?
These Brexeters need to know that actions have consequences

If yes then this bawbag is a terrorist.
// Remember the riots of a few years ago when boys and girls got 4 year sentences for taking a bottle of water from a looted shop? //

PP looks severe and wags finger
now sandy that was Manchester and Mark Duggan (who he? a thousand Abers chant in unison)
and these were sentences for looting (previously a capital offence) - these are completely different circumstances and a completely different act

// 'If he was a bit swarthy and brandishing a scimitar threatening death to the infidel'//

yeah foo an if he was a jet black fuzzy wuzzy and brandishing a cooking pot and chanting where is the white man, would be be a cannibal ? yeah foo!

but he isnt and these are different circumstances ....
PP senses the fred going 'the Usual Way' and wrings hands anxiously.....
Question Author
No need for hand wringing, PP.
We all have our own opinions and chatting here in AB gives us the opportunity to voice them
//this nascent right-wing thuggery //

Brexit knows no sectarian political boundaries. (mr Corbyn is a brexiteer) how do you know this guy is right wing?
