To anybody who got the implants - I'd like an answer please. I'm getting the final ones next Monday and after quite a gruelling session with the trial teeth I was wondering should I get sedation as dentist did tell me I would be coming through something similar. Thanks

I never have, I would have thought the trial was so that they could get the final fitting without trouble. But if the dentist suggests it and you're worried, why not have some?

thanks Jno
I agree with J jj, take the dentists advice, a wee bit of sedation will do you no harm .
Have the sedation and when you come to, you will not recognise yourself. :-)
Tilly, I think it’s only her teeth jj is having done. :*)
I'm not sure as to why you've undergone a gruelling session, just for the final fitting ..... although I suppose it depends on how you are in a dentist chair.
I'm fine and can undergo a root canal no problem; whereas my missus says she can feel herself gagging, even when she's only having a routine examination.
You and your dentist are probably the best 2 people qualified to answer your question ..... have a word with your dentist and see what he says.
Just out of curiosity, what happened that caused your session to be so "gruelling".

.... not long now ..... good luck ..... I'll be watching this space :)
I know, Anne, but with her new pearly whites she won't know who she is.
I never have mine done in pearly white, Tilly, they'd stand out too much. The dentist just produces a Dulux chart and we go through deciding which degree of muddy would be most inconspicuous.
Tilly, I’m sure jj will look fabulous, it’s taken her a lot of sleepless nights and discomfort to get to this stage. Good luck jj . :*)

well I'm off to bed - erm to answer a few questions - no to the pearly whites as the rest of the teeth are certainly not white.

the next answer is - it seemed like a long time as in 45 minutes to get the trial teeth - you know I don't know what they are doing so I said to him (dentist) after it was over - will it be like this for final fitting and he said yes. so that's another reason

also all through these months I had my one and only favourite dental nurse who understood what I was going through ie (I couldn't answer dentist when he had the mask over his mouth) - he was saying "open your mouth" , press down, back teeth press down - I couldn't lip read him - so she mouthed to me what dentist wanted me to do so not having that nurse that last time was a big pressure. I am making sure she is there on the final day - if she isn't - then I';m not going through with it.

Giz - that last time I asked dentist "cos it was a trial - could I go through this without freeze - yes he said" - but I went through with the freeze and even with the freeze - I ripped the bib in two.

just to finish off - these 4 are at the front - if the rest fall out - tough - I will never get them replaced. 4 will be enough to smile at somebody - that'll do me. And when I am in the brown box - at least I died smiling LOL
LOL @ jj.
I have been in this situation before.
