Mothering Sunday is the fourth Sunday of Lent, usually landing it sometime in March. Traditionally, it is a day on which people visit the church they were baptised in and on which they honour their mother. Both Roman Catholic and Anglican churches in the UK observe Mothering Sunday.
I dislike Mothering Sunday intensely!! My mother died nearly 12 years ago and we didn’t get on at all, I have to buy a gift for my MIL who I don’t get on with, it constantly reminds me of my inability to have children.

Happy mothers day to all the bereaved mums all those who have lost much loved mums and all the peoplemails who would love to be mums but aren't. And to all the single dads who are doing the job of mum and dad
My daughter took me to a tapas bar last night. Fabulous food, service and non-alcoholic cocktails (I was driving). Going to son's tonight to be spoiled all over again.
I’d forgotten it was Mothers’ Day until I got a text from my son. I’m on hols in S Africa, so having a lovely time regardless of the day.
Sorry for people who find it a sad day for whatever reason.
