Anyone out there listening to Chris Evans on Virgin and/or Simon Mayo on Scala and, if so, how do their current shows compare to their old Radio 2 ones?

Agreed! Less juvenile and more sincere.
i wasn't chris evans' greatest fan, but at least he sometimes gave his guest time to talk and asked them some interesting rather than inane questions. I think someone on here pointed out about her (zoe ball) weird vocal style, and now i can't listen to her without getting annoyed by it (thanks BtW to whoever that was)
i have gone back to radio 5.
Bednobs,I too wasn't a great fan of Chris Evans as he spoke to fast at times. You are correct though about his interview technique and more intelligent questioning. His entertainment value was much higher.

Zoe,by contrast,is dull, sycophantic and is a one-trick pony. She talks to elders in the same way as young kids.

When Evans left,Mark Goodier and Gary Davis both had spells at the controls and were easily more accomplished.

R2,yet again, missed a trick,a habit they seem to be perpetuating...
