Recording Rescheduled Programme

This afternoon, the Masters golf is rescheduled from its original evening session and will now begin at 1:55pm. BBC have announced they are covering it and I want to record it as we have to go out.

The TV guide still has their original schedule. If I record the programme in its original slot, will the recording automatically move with the new time?

I've waited overnight to see if the TV guide is updated but no change.

I think you shoud set your recorder for the time, not the programme.
Is there facility on your machine to record by time only, not prigramme only?
If you delve into the instruction manual, most recorders have a way of setting the device to record in the old-fashioned way ie, channel 1 from 11pm Sunday until 6am Monday.

I will try teaching myself about recording by time, although I am now concerned that they might switch between BBC1 and BBC2 throughout the afternoon.
Many recorders will let you record more than one programme at a time, so you can cover BBC1 and BBC2 with that. The tricky part comes when they switch to "Red button", which not all recorders can cope with.

Thats true bhg481, I'll wait a bit longer, and if the guide doesnt update, I'll try recording both across the time slots and hope for the best.

No ... have read the manual and there are no instructions for recording by date and time. Help!
it will chop and change most likely twixt 1 and 2
recorder type ?
What we do in such cases is to set it to record whatever the schedule says is on; you might get 6 hours of rubbish or you might be lucky and get the golf. (for me, not being a golf fan, that would be 6 hours of rubbish or 6 hours of rubbish).
Its listed on the iPlayer tv guide and in the Sky box tv guide, but the Sky app on my ipad doesn't list it!
My Sky TV guide has it down for 1.55pm on BBC2
Strangely, on the Sky Q app it doesn’t find it, but it’s there on the TV guide if I look on BBC2.
As a "Sledgehammer-to-crack-a-nut" solution, you could tune your recorder to BBC2 and press the "Record" button just before you go out. Repeat for BBC1 if your recorder can record 2 programmes at a time.

Thanks all and especially bhg481 for you patience in helping me to record my rubbish! The guide has finally updated and well are all set to record at the new time.

I just have to avoid the spoilers now!
I recorded a football match the other week which overran due to extra time and the recording carried on past the previously advertised ending.
If you record by programme rather than time it ought to be better as it’s the programme you really want. Whether it is or not however ...
tiget won
I havent spoiled it for you have I ?
you'd have to be on a different planet not to know who won by now :-)
