Goodbye all at AB I’ve been a member fo a very long time but am now leaving this site as a protest against unnecessary deletion of posts and blocking answers to other posts. Today was the final straw. Some really good people on this site. Farewell.

really? How do people know this stuff? Did a mod actually say "I'm removing this post because I don't like you"?

David, sorry to see you go - I'm not sure exactly what triggered this but if you would like to be reinstated at any time please send me an email.

Naomi, the transgender thread you linked to was closed because it was getting to sound pretty offensive to trans people, and while I support the reasons for it being closed, I have reopened it with a comment in the hopes we can have a reasonable discussion of the news article while using the proper pronouns for the woman in question.

I think that sometimes threads are closed in error - perhaps a slip of the finger by scrolling, and they are then reopened. If you think a thread has been closed in error, please email us and we will take a look.

AB editor, Can you please email David and tell him what happened? I think it was the silencing of my thread thread, "Thoughts for Sunday" which brought this about.
After one reply I was unable to respond to it myself, though later in the day it was re-opened, as it still is,.

david is also annoyed about the 'unnecessary deletion of posts', of which I am in total agreement with him. There is nothing worse than coming onto a thread and seeing a raft of '- answers removed -' !
