I am having problems signing into windows live messenger (version 8.0.792). The suggested solution is to delete my contacts cache folder. Will this delete all my messenger contacts if I do this?

Thanks

I have the same problem, and sent them an email, about a week ago, and they still haven't replied, if they do, which I doubt now, and they tell me how to rectify it, i'll post back.
No it shouldnt. Your cache is just a store of them all.

Your contacts are stored on a server online, i'm led to believe. You can sign into MSN on any computer, obvusally without your cache on, so there shouldnt be a problem.

Thank you for your answers. I did the steps as suggested on the Windows live help page and it has sorted the problem and I did not loose any contacts.
