7 Answers
hi, i am 7 months pregnant and over the past couple of days i have developed the mask of pregnancy across my eyes and my linea nigra, i dont go out in the sun so was quite surprised about my face as i thought that triggered it! My question is does it disappear after i have had the baby?

A pregnancy mask is pigmentation on the face that are caused by pregnancy hormones, usually set off by the sun!
Lexx, thank you very much, i shall get some of that for my face, think i will wait til bubs is born in case it doesnt get darker

Hey boobs, I haven't got /had it (yet!) but my friend had discolouration on her face which if I can remember rightly was caused by continued sunbed sessions. anyway - she used Loreal's Microdermabrasion and the patches have all gone! - Hang on, Don't rush out and buy it just yet.....
I've had a nose around online and it's advised NOT to use during pregnancy but if it's not fading after your little one arrives then maybe you could give it a try.

Hi boobesque, yes I had the same problem, and afterwards I tried fade out, but I dont think it helped much, the dark skin pigmentation faded after a while by itself. By winter time, you wont notice it.
But 8 years on after having baby, I still get dark patches. Even lard thickness sun factor 50 doesnt seem to help!
Good luck with the pregnancy, and drink raspberry leaf tea after 34 weeks it helps with the birth (if you can stomach the taste!) xx
