Think my mother was homesick as soon as we got on the train to go up to London 1ozzy and it never really got better. Dad loved it working in the steelworks in Wollongong and me and my sister both loved it there. The school thought that as I was a Pom they would make me captain of the cricket team, I don't really like cricket even now and much prefer a good rugby match.
I used to think about it when I was younger but not now. I have travelled a lot for work and pleasure, married over 30 years, children and grandchildren and still travel but only what I call local these days due to health just in Europe.
I always assume Ozzie males love cricket. I have an Australian acquaintance who I tried to talk to about cricket when I first met him. He couldn’t give a flying wosname about cricket, or any sport, come to that.
