thanks for the add

I don't have a lot of time for reading blogs but occasionally I will follow a link to someone's myspace page and I keep seeing this phrase 'thanks for the add'

what does it mean?

It means that they have been added to the other persons friends list.

If you want to contact someone, you have to be in their 'friends list' and to get in there, you have to send them a request.

They then either approve or decline your request to be their friend and if they approve you, a message is normally send saying 'thanks for the add'.
