Why should hygiene be compromised for a minority, if you can’t abide by them then do something else, the rules are there for a reason.

I think that it usual, webbo. If you have a career, you have to follow guidelines whether you like them or not. Nobody is being "bullied", the rules have to be the same for everyone.

It's what we used to call common sense, boys.
We've got Dr Corby saying there's no conclusive evidence that bacteria could harm you during an operation, so he'll take a chance.
And Professor Danny pointing to a picture of Muslim doctors performing an operation in a Muslim country and saying it 'appears' to be safe. We should do it.

THECORBYLOON, Evidence? Are you serious? What evidence do you want? Evidence that sick people are succumbing to more hospital acquired infections? Have you ever seen the serous results of hospital acquired infections? We’ve known for a very long time that good hygiene in hospitals is vital – that is nothing new. The simple fact is that clothing carries bacteria and covered arms cannot be scrubbed. That’s why arms are required to be bare. Nothing, absolutely nothing – not even religious foibles – or the thoughtless supporters of those who claim special dispensation - should be allowed to compromise patient safety.
