I have always liked my own company, and I am quite happy to be at home, I see and hear of people, going out and about and socialising, all the time, and think It just doesn't interest me, I often think maybe something is wrong with me, do you think this is odd or just the way I am programmed

The internet is a good place for people to chat without actually seeing other people and without revealing their own identity. Plenty of people fit this description; it's not some lethal genetic mutation. If they're actually lonely then they'll have to do something about it; if they're happy with their own company, then chatrooms are still a useful outlet.
Providing you can manage ok at times you "need" to interact with people, there is no reason you should need to go looking for it yourself.
I find all day every day is pretty much being with other people and really appreciate time I have to myself, it's so easy. If you are happy with it... no problem x
