Any Anglers or Biologists supply an answer to this please.
We have a fantastic wet fish shop in our Town centre where we regularly purchase large quantities of Mackerel and Sea Bream. When Mackerel is not in season we can buy bags of two Mackerel from the freezer that have not been cleaned and filleted. No problem. I can do that.
When they have defrosted I gut them and always, so far, every Mackerel contains Roe. I am OK with that as I grill it with the rest of the flesh.
Can anyone suggest why I always clean and gut female Mackerel in our regular selection please?
If you would like a sensible answer, the female mackerel tend to shoal and go in large groups of females to spawn. I presume these large shoal come up on the fisherman's radar and they are caught en masse.
I'm afraid I don't understand your question....are mackeral dumb? Can they speak..I don't think so...at least not in a way that I would understand. I presume that you always clean and gut female fish because you want to eat them ... after removing the roe....after all only female fish produce eggs
if you want to know if one of them is dumb, ask them which is the only London tube station without any of the letters in "mackerel" in its name. I bet none of them know.
