The former contains dexchlorpheniramine, whereas the latter contains chlorphenamine maleate. They're both based around chlorphenamine though, and are effectively the same drug.
I certainly wouldn't try to get any form of drugs past Australian customs without loads of paperwork though. They're incredibly strict. (I once sent a copy of the England Cricket Annual to a boy in Australia. It never got to him though because I'd failed to fill in a form correctly).
While you'd be permitted to take Piriton into Australia for your own personal use if you were visiting Oz, you might easily fall foul of the Ozzie 'Therapeutic Goods Administration' rules if you sought to post it into the country.

PS: There are far more effective antihistamines around nowadays than old-fashioned Piriton (which causes drowsiness, thus preventing the user from driving, operating machinery or carrying out many other routine tasks). Loratadine works best for me. It's sold under that name in Oz, as well as in proprietary formulations (such as Claratyne, Lorano and Allerdyne).
Demazin's got chlorphenamine maleate and pseudoephedrine sulfate, and it's available in Oz without a prescription.

She could just ask the chemist for chlorphenamine and see what he or she suggests.

^^^ Nice one, Jno.
Add in some paracetamol and you've got Chemists' Own Hayfever Sinus Relief, which is also available in Australian pharmacies without prescription:

which is kinda why Plummer went to prison in Egypt when she was trying to import Whammadol - she clearly couldnt send it by post. and when she tried the personal touch - - two years in prison in Qena - not nice.

buying and selling medicines is becoming much less de-regulated world over
(still cant get over going into a pharmacy in Luxor and saying (in arabic) I want blah de blah de blah
and he said ( in arabic ) yeah ok here it is ....)
- actually he said here it is and look it is much cheaper than the prices in the west !
