I think Goodlife is suggesting that we detach ourselves from those we love if they don't meet his criteria. So much for unconditional love.

Naomi To have true faith a personal attachment and a loving relationship with God, to be his friend, is not unrealistic. It is attainable. True, we cannot strictly equate our love for God with human relationships. The love we feel for our mate, parents, siblings, children, or friends is different from the love we have for God. (Matthew 10:37) Loving Jehovah involves our devotion, worship, and an unconditional dedication to him.

Also, my adoptive granddaughter is getting baptized next month. They won't come as, you've guessed it... they're JW's.

I am not a religious person, in fact I am an agnostic but I do think that this particular proverb is quite accurate. If you surround yourself with smart people, you will become smarter because you will all learn from each other. If you surround yourself with muppets, then you only have yourself to blame when you are sitting watching Love Island and TOWIE.
I dont have many friends because I chose mine carefully, I do not need to be in human company for long periods so am happy to wait until I can be with the friends I have got. They are people that you can have an intelligent conversation with, discuss the issues of the day and I always find the conversation stimulating rather than numbing.

Melv16 - Sorry to hear that. I was not invited to my brothers funeral and when there families got married, I was not invited to their weddings. Yet my non witness relatives were invited to my wedding. Its all down to personal choice.
