Norton Power Eraser

i was advised to download this a while ago. Well when i tried to use it today, a pop up window popped up saying it was out of date. So when i tried to update it all i get is an error message.
any advice would be appreciated.

Uninstall it. Restart your computer. Reinstall it.

already done that, but with no joy.

There should be a dedicated uninstall tool within the folder where Norton Power Eraser resides. It will be called either uninstall.exe or unins000.exe. Double-clicking on that file might get rid of the program more fully than the usual Windows method. Then restart your computer and try reinstalling.

However I'm not sure why you need Norton Power Eraser anyway. The combination of your normal anti-virus program and a decent anti-malware program (such as the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware) should be all that you require.

Sorry chris, but i'm sure it was you that suggested i install NPE. So i wont bother if you think its not worth it

A bit of searching shows that Norton Power Eraser has only ever been recommended here (but quite a few times) by just one person, CrapAtCryptics. I had to use google to find out what it does!
