I know wild camping is illegal in the peak district, but it is legal in the lake district.

What about Scotland?

sorry Spath, I misread your "it is" for "is it" . In fact if you read the link, its not legal there without the permission of the landowner....The National Parks Authority for the Lake District say that they don't allow it but it has happened "traditionally" in other words, "We know we can't stop you but please abide by the community rules"

They're always things out to get you Spath in the wilds, you just have to be wary and know where they're coming from. Pitchforks and torches is a bit of a clue ;-)
