Several pundits on the TV this morning have commented that if you add up the votes for the pro brexit/pro remain parties it almost exactly mirrors the original referendum. So we have the answer, 3 years after the original vote the country is still pro brexit so can the SGB stop whining about a second referendum.

No it clearly isn't.

Neither can a General Election be predicted from it for many reasons.

All it shows is massive discontent with today's useless politicians, and not just over Brexit.
There is 'always' discontent over politicians, their reputation ain't great, but it is Brexit, and the MPs' appalling response to delivering the referendum result, that brings it to a head. It makes folk realise that MPs, or many of them at least, consider themselves not the servants of the people but their management, who know best. That democracy isn't for the people ITO but only for interaction between MPs.
Think a second referendum is imminent, bring it on lets get it done and dusted.
Aye, a second referendum will sort everything.

only the government can call it and they are in no mood at the moment. if labour succeed in their wish for a G/E they'll have no need of a second referendum. so there won't be.
We might as well have a second Referendum to solve this stalemate, because we ain't going to get a G/E , The Cons are too frightened.
Because a second referendum in an effort to use the EU's appalling and indefensible tactic of 'vote until you get the answer your superiors demand' will make everything done and dusted. Trusting that it will be the same as last time is no reason to pander to those who won't accept they were in the minority. We already have a result; trying to get another will just inflame any fair minded individual. Having the gall to suggest it is bad enough as it shows total disrespect for the existing democratically arrived at result.
even democrats are allowed to change their minds - so they must not be given the opportunity to do so.
And so they can, when the result and benefits of the original decision has become clear to them, in a couple of decades time.
"Think a second referendum is imminent, bring it on lets get it done and dusted".

Another referendum won't solve anything unless the majority of MPs want it to. They have proved that already.
I hope all the Tory MPs who voted against the PM's deal, and represent a constituency that voted to leave the EU, gets kicked out at the General Election, assuming they have the guts to stand.
If May’s deal - which is effectively an agreement between 28 countries and 27 parliaments - was put to the people in a referendum and voted through, we would leave the EU having decided to do something Parliament couldn’t do.
So it WOULD sort it.
May's Deal or No Deal. I'm up for that if it will shut you whingers up.
Ironically the only person I’ve ever heard say the original referendum should be rerun was Sir Vince ....
no
drum roll ...
Nigel Farage :-)
It seems one can't be right about everything, then.
The only way to know what would happen in a second referendum is to have one.

I'm not saying we should, just that it's the only way. You have to remove the political parties from the equation to get the true remain/leave split as it currently stands.
I don’t believe in holding another referendum simply to see whether the result would be the same.
Holding one like that was bad enough. Why would we want to repeat it?
What I’d like to see is another referendum used to get us out of the current mess. Put a concrete proposal down, one if the ones parliament has rejected, and see if it flies.
Whatever it is it mustn’t number a No Deal tho because that is effectively voting to go off in a huff.
Even Farage doesn’t talk of a No Deal Brexit but a Clean Break Brexit - CBeebie maybe for short:-)
Although that may just be his way of being not entirely open.
