Are there any " GOODNIGHT MR TOM" fans out there? Well this afternoon was a very similar one again with JOHN THAW. iT WAS CALLED "HIDDEN TREASURE" It was on ITV 3. I thoroughly recommend it.

Thank you, Gmum.....will look for that. I loved Goodnight Mr Tom...and I really like John Thaw.
MrG and John Thaw could have been twins. MrG travelled away a lot and when John Thaw was on TV our little daughter was convinced that was where daddy was...in the TV.... :-)

I have always liked that film. It is in my DVD collection. Great story,acting and location.

Hidden Treasure was very similar story but this time he is suddenly left with his granddaughter when his daughter dies suddenly.. Great acting as usual from John Thaw.x

Oh god no. My husband has watched this so many times. Partly because he likes John Thaw and also because he’s forgotten he’s seen it before.
It’s dreadful. That little girl grates, and I can’t stand JT.

I thought it was magical and every bit as good as "Goodnight Mr Tom" I lost myself in it! It was a treat to watch a film with no sex, violence or bad language, just good old fashioned entertainment.

I loved it. He was a very good actor, loved him in Morse also. I agree with Georgiesmum, nice to have something without violence, sex and bad language. Thoroughly enjoyable.
