I have a script which is long- around 75 pages. It has had various bits added from phones and other devices over several years. Even if I select the whole thing and make the font / size the same, I still have issues with it- leaving large gaps and changing font suddenly etc. Is there any way of selecting the whole document and changing the font so it is fixed and locked in? I use Word 2013 on Windows 7.
If the usual way of changing a font isn't working, my own way of trying to solve the problem would be to copy the whole lot and then paste it into a new blank document, using the 'Keep Text Only' option: https://it.nmu.edu/docs/paste-options-microsoft-office-word-2013 Then apply your chosen formatting to the text in the new document.

Would echo Chris' suggestion. Use text to start from scratch. Use a text editor with global find and replace to get rid of oddities like multiple spaces, tabs, or whatever you find. Then copy & paste back into a new Word document.
