but find it increasingly exhausting.
When I was younger I would think nothing of driving for miles all day. (had several driving jobs).
But today have driven only from Stoke to Chester and back and am k,nackerd.
Driving to Shrewsbury tomorrow and while I will enjoy the drive I know that im going to be exhausted when I get back.
Anyone else feel this way as they get older? Don't know why Im finding it so tiresome as I age. Not as though its a physical activity?
(Im only 52 as well )

Joking apart, my mum loves Chester but has NEVER seen the river, so got a minibus/people carrier to take her today.
Had a great day. (apart from almost having a dead engine because I left the lights on and taking a wrong turn on the way home...cuz I was knackered)

Thanks for replies.
I love driving, but only where I know. I find it stressful going on long journeys that I don't know.

Same here. Thank God for Google maps and smart phones (even though I got lost on the way home...somehow corrected)
It's the concentration in today's traffic that is tiring. I don't drive, but my husband still enjoys it, although we don't travel as far as we used to. I find he is more impatient as he has gets older. I've learned a few new swear words and somehow everyone is a terrible driver except him!
I can drive. I can read maps. But not both at the same time! Getting lost scares me.
I do have to ask, how can you get lost driving from Chester to Stoke? Where did you go wrong?
I can get lost anywhere, so I can well believe it, even not being familiar with those places.

God knows, some roundabout or other Tills.
Wasn't concertrating….
i started to hate driving after i was bereaved - being stuck i a small space with nothing to do but think made me xrazy
Chester, Nantwich, Newcastle, Stoke.
Coming back from Cornwall I got lost or took a wrong road seven times. I thought I’d never get home.
Getting lost doesn’t worry me. I pull over, sort myself out and retrace my route. Driving safely is more important than driving in the right direction!
