I tend to use sprays rather than rubs, alternate between Wintergreen heat spray (a bit smelly), a freezing spray and deep heat. All for lower back pain which is why I use a spray. The heat sprays seem to work the best.

I'm told that anything containing nutmeg oil is good. Went to Grenada a few years ago with a friend who swore by it. The brand from Grenada was called Nutmed
