Had a phone call from the hospital asking if I still wanted an appointment.
When I asked what for the lady said I was on the list to see a doctor re high blood pressure and cholesterol. I said I had no knowledge of this. She remarked that two a half years ago I went on the list to see a doctor and I had just come to the top of the list. I told her my condition is managed by pills from my GP so I didn't need the appointment after all this time.
I know they are busy but I think this was a bit extreme.
That is just a joke. I will not knock the NHS when you have a emergency they are superb, but routine stuff its getting worse. When I visit my local hospital you may walk through some blood spattered corridors, until you pass management area, staircase with shag pile carpet deep enough to lose yourself in and fresh flowers.
The trust system is simply not working IMO.
Presumably somebody put you on the hospital list in the first place? I'm not sure individuals can self-refer, so my guess is that it was your GP who asked them to see you.
Or did you not see your GP about it until you got bored waiting for the hospital to call you in?
Lynne you would had thought so, but it managers choice I guess? Pet hate of mine managers running wards and hospitals not nurses, and how they get ripped of on prices they pay pharmaceutical companies for some day to day meds like paracetamol etc.
I really do have memory problems. When a friend asks me what I did at weekend I have to say I can't remember. So I don't stand a chance of remembering what happened two and a half years ago!
