Keyless Car
15 Answers
I have a car which I can open by just standing at the side of it and pressing the door handle providing the key is close to the car, in my handbag or pocket. I bought a pouch that would protect the key when it was in the house if any car thieves tried waving whatever they wave to detect the signal from outside the house. Yesterday I walked up to the car and the key was still in the pouch, in my pocket, yet I was able to open the door.
Does this mean that the pouch isn't fit for purpose?
Hope I've explained it enough!

Those Faraday bags seem to have two compartments ....did you put the key in the right one (so it's completely surrounded by the metallized fabric) and close the top properly. Although I have "keyless entry and start", I haven't concerned myself with bags/boxes etc because the car's in a locked garage at home.

I had one of those pouches up until a month ago.
It's called a faraday bag.
My key wouldn’t work when in the bag.
I always unlock the passenger door first and put my handbag on the seat, then walk round to the drivers side.
Only I was a complete half wit one day, and after unlocking the car, without thinking, I put the key back in the bag, so as I walked around the car it locked.
Car key, house key, phone and bank cards all locked in!
I ditched the bag after that.

^^^you've said this before and, of course, are entitled to your opinion.
Others, like me, said that they find the feature very useful.
"Disable this feature"....you'll find it possible on some cars, but not on others.
Better advice is to ask a franchised dealer to upgrade the keys to the latest "motion-sensor" technology.
