'Snapshots' but not pics!

Hope I can explain this! I have a desktop publishing programme installed on my computer. With this I have made up a training brochure. I need to take a copy with me tomorrow but printer not working. Is there any way I can take a screen snapshot of it and then put it on a disk to be opened on another computer (without the programme)? I know what I mean! Hope someone else does ...

Pressing the "PrtScn" button will copy a "snapshot" of your screen to the clipboard. This can then be pasted into (say) Word, which will probably be OK for your work, or you could "paste as new image" into a photo-editing program (which would also enable you to cut off any extraneous information such as the task bar) and save the images as jpegs or similar. Just save the Word file or the jpegs to disc. I use this facility to take snapshots of my firewall program, so I can remember what I have granted permission to!

In case you ever need to know how to use the clipboard, once you have copied an item to it, you should be able to use the "paste" function in most programs to paste from it into the program. Obviously this depends on the program and what you have on the clipboard! An example would be that if you highlighted this answer by holding the left mouse button and dragging the cursor over the answer, then right-clicked the highlighted portion and selected "copy", it would be copied to the clipboard. You could then paste this answer into (say) Word by simply pressing the "paste" icon.
