Butterscotch.
4 Answers
Where can I buy old-fashioned hard, brittle butterscotch? I used to be able to obtain it in breakaway slabs and Parkinson's of Doncaster, the sweet people, used to make it individually wrapped and sold as a weigh out. Alas, Parkinson's, like so many traditional sweet manufacturers are no more. My wife visited the Trafford centre yesterday but had no luck at the specialist confectioners or in Selfridges who have a large store there. Help required please.

...but no fruit fondant. Nobody makes them anymore. They used to be made by Lion Confectionery, a subsidiary of Bassetts and they were called American Creams. There used to be a shop in Llandudno that sold nothing but fruit fondant. Googling fondant now only brings results for mint creams. Not required.
