Netflix - Lost In Translation
8 Answers
Not sure if I'm in the right category maybe Technology?
Anyway - I find this odd. I can get normal English subtitles oñ Netflix with an English speaking programme. But - with foreign language programmes there is not the usual English translation and to add insult to injury they are dubbed!! Can't bear it. I have Freeview. Daughter with Virgin - no probs. Any ideas why this is ?

Foreign-language programmes are bought in with either dubbing or English subtitles and are shown as they are received by the broadcaster.
“thought that went out years ago”
I recently watched a Swedish drama on Netflix. (Quicksand. Don’t bother. It was rubbish). I also need subtitles, and found it was dubbed.
It was like going back to my childhood and watching one of those programmes that were on in the school holidays, like “White Horses.” Very strange.
I also found that the subtitles said something completely different to the dubbing, but meant the same thing.
