There's a very good bus service and you must take a trip to the old capital Ciutadella (about 8 miles North). OMG I get there on Friday for the umpteenth time :-) Honestly you won't get the friendly chat like on here but the very best ideas etc are on the tripadvisor forum.
Will you have a car or are you staying in resort?

I suspect we will walk or use taxis, Prudie.
Cala'n Bosch eh?
I don't suppose it is La Quinta resort hotel?
As Prudie says will you have a car?

Sqad no not la quinta.

Prudie thanks for the tip. We did Cuitadella by bus yesterday. Lovely place. Loved the cathedral. May go back tomorrow!
You must go to Fornell's and splash out on the Caldereta de Langosta ( Lobster soup) at El Pescador.......a gastronomic experience.....go on Barmaid, you can afford it..;-)
Have you sampled the original Royal Navy Gin that is distilled in Menorca to this day.
When Lord Nelson hung his trousers there (Deerpest natural harbour for Mediterranean Royal Navy Station) the sailors, contrary to belief, drank Gin and not Rum. The Plymouth Gin recipe was utilised for the fleet and the 'Original' Plymouth Gin has been distilled there since under various labels.Very nice it is to. :-) I recall you could get gin -flavoured ice cream as well as hundreds of other flavours they produce. :-)
We were thinking of going there in September.

Starting to look a bit common now though. :-)
retro....No, I am not a gin drinker, but the gin "factory on the harbour was a popular tourist spot and we passed by daily and the gin was called Xoriguer.
douglas...LOL...Prudie is there, Barmaid is there....I would say it was up market ;-)
Worlds best stallions!

And I am back there first week of September. We've just returned from an evening in Ciutadella. Eating ice cream on the cathedral steps. 27 degrees at 11 at night :-)
