Don't show any sport on BBC One and Two. In the world of modern multi TV channel setups - this should be the way forward - a dedicated sports channel. The BBC as an organisation really is going down the dumps and needs overhauled. Rant over . . . .

There's no spare capacity for it on Freeview though, so such a channel would only be available to users of other platforms (which, in turn, would bring about howls of protest from viewers who've not got Sky, Freesat, Virgin or something similar).
Capacity issues might also have been involved in the decision to show tennis on BBC1 tonight as (again due to a lack of capacity within the Freeview system) BBC2 isn't available for Scottish viewers using Freeview. (It had to be removed to make way for BBC Scotland).

Buen:
You can get BBC 2 in Scotland - I watch it sometimes for Mock The Week and some other stuff. It on Freeview Channel 2 (SD) and 102 (HD).
The BBC Scotland channel is on Freeview 9 (SD) and 115 (HD).
With regards to the Freeview spare capacity - I'm sure the dudes at Freeview could get rid of the less popular channels that nobody watches to free up space. They could just bite the bullet and get rid of the new BBC Scotland channel because it's abysmal and the viewing figures are atrocious. There was never a great demand for the channel in the first place - it was just political interference from the SNP Gov who view the BBC as bias and anti Scottish, which it can be at times.
