Strange Object.

Looking round the garden this evening I came across a strange object.
It was a roundish shape, but a bit like a small sausage roll, white and full of little holes. It was about an inch and a half long.
I thought it was something to do with an animal of some kind like an egg sac. It was hidden behind a plant pot on the patio
I couldn't wait for OH to come out to show him. I really built up the tension when I was telling him about it. He took one look at it and said, you stupid woman, it's the lime scale ball out of the kettle!
I then remembered I had used the kettle to fill the bird bath and emptied the remains into a plant pot.
Boy did I feel stupid!

Years ago when I was at the seaside, I found a largish, smooth, dark orange stone with three holes in it and wondered what it was.

Kept it for years and then I realised it was a corner of a brick that had been worn down by the sea...

If I had seen the object in the kitchen I would probably have realised what it was.
But seeing it out of context and being reluctant to touch it in case I did some damage to "said imagined babies"
I didn't feel that it was metal.
