How would you define what politics is as an explanation for your children?

I would say..

Imagine a playground where everyone wants to be popular and pick football teams first.

Then imagine an adult version of that.

I never even tried. Seemed cruel to dash their hopes, kill their faith in humanity and generally depress them at a young age.

your father and I do household things like - feed you and send you off to school and even work !
and governments do government things and they call it politics
like.....
brexit, downing st, state visits, parliament and so on

and heard a ten year old say - - Churchill - and what sort of prime minister will HE make?

and the head honcho continued - I hated that boy .....

no - oncth upon a time, there was an oxford lady who was taught by a Nobel prize winner who didnt think much of her At All. And the oxford ladys son became very Rich Indeed and the nobel prize winner lived in tgwo rooms in a college still....
