Text/imessage Not Sending

I’m trying to send a text/iMessage to boy #2 who’s in France. The progress bar at the top of the screen I showing but the message is not sending. Is this because he has no signal/WiFi?

Are you sending to his email address or phone number, if phone number, do you have it stored with the +44 in front?

Hi, I’m just replying to the message he sent me from France - will that not work?

Possibly not, check his number in your contacts and add the +44 (removing the leading zero) and try again. If it's iMessage and it can't get through (if he's not on WiFi) it 'should' try and send it as a text message (it will be green rather than blue), it can take a while before it gives up and tries the text.

You send to the network, the network sends to the recipient. If your mobile shows the text isn't leaving your phone then the issue is between your phone and your service provider's network. Probably the latter.

I'd have thought 'reply' should work, his network should know he's roamed. Or is he using a French mobile account ? But just in case, store the full international number in your directories.
