After two hours my session is automatically ended, and it's a nightmare if I want to download large(25+ meg) files.Just wanted to know...1) Is this normal? and 2)Is there a way around it so i can leave my connection open overnight etc. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions! x

2) Never needed to use one, but there are a number of "download managers" that purport to resume broken downloads. This one is free: http://www.leechget.net/en/ , and may help.
I realise that you may be tied into a contract with Tesco, but it is worth looking into a BB connection. If it is possible to get BB in your area, you may find that it is more economical than dial-up if you factor in the costs of the calls. Plus it frees the phone line! (Though with the ladies in my house this isn't necessarily a good thing).

When I was on dial up I used a download manager (gozilla - which I still use sometimes despite the spyware, but I think others work in the same way) and there are two useful functions. Firstly, it will resume the download of most files where it left off, and secondly, it will redial your connection if you are cut off. So you can leave it all night and it will keep downloading.
