Do You Have A Pet?

Are you a dog person or a cat person? If neither what pets or companion animals do you have? What attracted you to that species or breed?

I have always had cats, couldn't live without them, currently have 2. I really love dogs but work full time. That's gonna be in my retirement plan though :-)

I have an extremely vocal and pampered cat who has a thing for bakery products and has been know to bring sponge cake home.

Up until about 3 years back, i had a lovely, placid miniature Doberman (Molly) for 15 years until her ill health caused me to make the most difficult decision a dog owner can face. I now have a Jack Russell (Milo) - about 4yo) who thinks he's a Rottweiler - until he actually meets a Rottweiler, that is. He is very good at catching rats, tearing newspaper and drying my legs when i step out of the shower. When we retire at night, he initially tries to sleep inside my pillow case as i visit the bathroom and looks most put out when i remove him from the pillow case. He loudly lets me know when my phone rings or i get a text - even when i'm sat right beside the mobile - and continues to yap when i answer so that i always miss the first few sentences of what anyone on the other end may be saying. The two dogs couldn't have been any more different but i know they would have got on like a house on fire had i had them both at the same time.

Alas no dogs now. Used to have a Labrador as a pet and Jo the Bavarian long haired Alsatian was a working dog but my best loyal buddy as a kid. No time for cats in our house.

Lola thinks she's a Rottweiler too, growls at other four legged friends and hates the postie,yet she's putty in our hands and everyone admires her when she's on her lead, I pay more for her haircut than I do my own and get shedloads of unconditional love in return
