Snakes and caterpillars........I can walk away from caterpillars but snakes render me hysterical.... At a fete my little one wanted to go into the reptile tent....so I gritted my teeth...took her hand and in we went. In the middle of the tent I turned around and came face to face with a huge snake that a woman....crazy woman...had wrapped around her. Let go of...

I don't like birds flapping around me but since that doesn't often happen it doesn't present a real problem ...but ... spiders!!!! I simply cannot deal with them sensibly. The last one that appeared when my husband wasn't home I sucked up the hoover as I usually do - and two days later in the transparent dust trap at the top of the stick vacuum cleaner, there the spider was, running merrily and healthily around. And he was a big boy too!! Urgghhhh!
I can't sand them but I can't hurt them- I struggle to even put a glass over them but I do until some non spider phobic person appears.
Also, deep water, whether it’s the sea or a swimming pool I can’t cope with anything over waist height.

I thought I was relatively phobia-free but the more I think about it the more fears I remember.
I’ll happily pick up a spider. If someone can come to my house to get rid of a dead bird we can swap favours.
I've had a complete phobia of spiders( i hate to even write the word!) as far back in my childhood that I can remember. You are always told that the phobia begins with a bad experience you had with "whatever", think mine began being chased by someone with the beastie in his hand. But to counteract that,I've been stung by wasps at least 4 times( and they are painful for a good few hours) and they don't scare me at all!!
I am very, very claustrophobic. Can't bear the idea of being locked in or trapped anywhere. Makes life quite difficult at times. Also, don't do heights. Find modern buildings terrifying with all their windows. Can go quite high in some old buildings though.

Automated car washes and high bridges for me. I had to get out of the car and wait at the end of the tunnel thingy last time I went to one with my Dad. When we were going across the Fourth Bridge (1980's) I hid on the floor of the car. I am not afraid of heights, though.
Hens! Goes back to a childhood incident.
