I am a mother to 3 kids, one son who is 5 and two daughters who are aged 3,and 8. All three of them need reminded of when to zip their jackets so, how can I get them doing it without being asked?

I dont see a problem. If it was needed at those ages I would have done it for them automatically.

Will you lot stop judging me, I am fine apart from all this cheeky comments on here :/!!
Did you allow your children to stay at the park on their own? Why did you let them go to the park if they were grounded? I can only speak for myself but this is not judgmental, just nosiness really (smiley face)
They judge you because if they judged themselves they wouldn't have as much of a good time Jennifer, Ignore em < 3

Banker Frank, it was so I could do the spring clean of their room without hearing them complain that I am putting things in the wrong place or I am not allowed to put out certain toys that they do not use.

In answer to your other question, The area is safe enough plus the oldest is intelligent enough to look after the youngest 2 :).

New member and first four questions are all about parenting issues. Can't make my mind up if this is a wind up or not. If not then I apologise and would ask where the father is of these children and does he not help you with them. Do you not have any other family (besides sister) that give you help or advice.
You let an 8 year old take responsibility for a 5 and 3 year old? They are your responsibility, not your daughter’s.

I have done on a few occasions Georgiesmum, mainly in the morning when we are in a rush to get them to school. Is that what you do or have done in the past :)?
What seems to me a bit ironic is you seem overly concerned about the fact your children may go outside with, heaven forbid, their jackets undone, yet you quite happily expect an 8 year old to babysit her two younger siblings in a public park. Can you explain why?

I already have Frank, I said it's because she is intelligent enough to look after them sufficiently, the area is safe (I already said that). Now, that should be enough for this barrage I am getting here, I am fine and only come here for ADVICE not a barrage of criticism so please stop!!
It's nice to see two relatively new posters sort of going at it and in the process keeping the thread going.
Best advice I can give you is once they have gone out to school go up to their room/rooms put everything that is out of place on their bed whether its clothes, books, toys whatever. You can then hoover, dust, clean windows etc. When they come home they can go to their rooms and put things away tidily in whatever way they wish. Make sure they have a laundry bin for dirty clothes. Once they learn how to do this they will keep their rooms a lot tidier. It is not for them to allow you to things with their toys. They shouldn't allow you to do anything - you're the parent. You are in charge. That way you will have time to take them to the park where they can play safely.
It is a sad fact of life that there are very few places you can confidently leave young children ,who haven’t the nous to use a zip ,in charge of 3 and 5 year old younger siblings. You claim we are judgemental. God forbid your kids come to harm and then you will learn what judgemental is after you answer to Police Scotland.
This has to be a wind up. There's no way a responsible adult would leave 3 young children unsupervised in a park.
sanmac who is 'going at it'?
I'm clocking off now sanmac. Have a nice evening.

Ellie, it's NOT a wind up either!!

More rain today so when we went shopping (I took them so they could help with the shopping as a punishment for the tantrums the other day, youngest two have to hold my hand and oldest cannot run off otherwise I add a week to their grounding) so instead of asking, I zipped them up myself.
