Yep!!

I’ve even gone as far as trying to change the channels with my phone and the house phone. Even have you seen the remote when it’s in my hand.

Haha neither does mine but it's about the same size as my landline phone and was lying just beside it, I often leave my phone off it's cradle

An elderly friend regularly tried to use the remote control for her chair to change TV channels and vice versa. Quite funny to see her rise majestically while complaining the TV remote didn't work!

I have a friend who, more than once, has called me because he is having a slight problem with his Firestick - roughly the same size as a mobile phone. I will talk him through the procedure for correcting whatever is at fault (usually something he has done) and he will put the phone down and carry out the instructions given. Then he picks his Firestick up and tries top converse with me through that. I can his his voice, very faintly, "Hello, hello, are you still there,Ken?" Takes him a good few seconds before he realises his mistake. As i said, he's done it more than once. Talk about an inability to multi-task. He can just about chew gum and walk at the same time :-)

No, but my TV and DVD Player remotes look very similar so I end up trying to use the DVD one for the TV.

My main one is on the small table ,Sky Q, the tv,the blue ray and the amazon Fire are all neatly tucked away on the shelf of the tv unit

Mum-in-law one put the alarm clock on the doorstep and took two empty milk bottles upstairs and put them on her bedside cabinet. She was ok but she woke a few of the neighbours up at 6.30 next morning.

I can't tell you how many times I've tried to turn the pages of a book or magazine by scrolling left...or tried changing the font size by tapping or pinching my fingers...*rolls eyes*.
