That's called a 'pet', is it? Something that suffocates its prey by wrapping itself around the unfortunate creature (someone's cat, perhaps) and then swallowing it? Not what you'd call loveable and cuddly, is it?

I once saw notices from cats protection league who were searching for an old missed for days. Lo and behold. The old chap was under my shed. Connected call them out.

Bookbinder - whilst the Snake might mean something to its owner my concern would be for, as you say, pets and people. I find them to be very sinister creatures.

David Small - these days adverts for lost or found cats work better via Faceook.

There is now a third category - for cats who turn up for food at people's homes or just walk through the car flap and help itself to the resident cat's food. I think folk just want to be reassured that the cat has a home and a human to boss around.

People are easily manipulated by these evil critters.

Spicey, it was a python, not an adder ...

The follow up was that the pet was found up a tree in the same street. The owner was informed and collected it to return it to a secure (?) vivarium. I don't know if a ladder was used though.
