Thanks, Bobbi. I've only just seen this. We had an early anniversary surprise at breakfast this morning.

Tomorrow we're visiting Dachau Concentration Camp in the morning and hopefully Nymphenburg Palace in the afternoon.

Thanks again for the kind wishes.
I would love to visit Nymphenburg's gardens.

We did the Auschwitz and Birkenau one a few years ago whilst visiting Kracow, it was mind blowing, there was about 18 of us went, we came back to our hotel very somber indeed
I'm going to Krakow in September. We've got Auschwitz booked and we're considering booking a day trip to Wroclaw.
Question Author
Krakow is a beautiful city with a fantastic square with cafe's and bars around its perimeter ,when we went a lot of the bars were underground , leftovers from Soviet influences , the Poles stored their wheat etc in silos there where it was cool, the bars were very authentic with live flame lanterns on the walls
I am looking forward to Krakow. Did you do the salt mines?

Munich is very beautiful but dreadfully expensive.
Question Author
No unfortunaky we didn't , I'd love to go back and do that and someday I will ( bucket list) the Poles are so friendly, lovely people everywhere we went, a bit of advice CG,go to see the death camps, come back and get hammered, we did :-)
Well I'm going with my mum now instead of my husband so I can let my hair down. His Lordship can be a bit straight-laced at times.

I daresay I'll need a stiff drink after hearing all the horrors of Auschwitz / Birkenau.

We've got a lovely boutique hotel booked. We got a really good flight + hotel deal through Easyjet.
Take plenty of tissues for your visit to Dachau. I sobbed my way around this camp.
I remember you saying, Sharon. When it comes to human suffering, I blubb easily.
I used to like Germany. It's one of the places that I miss from the "old days" I preferred it in the winter though
237, I think I'd prefer winter right now. The heat today has been unbearable.

We went to the English gardens today and there were surfers surfing the rapids in the river and people jumping in the river and being carried rapidly down the stream. I was dying to jump in, it looked such fun, but I didn't have my cossie on.
^ And when I used to fly in there (Berlin) only certain airlines could do that and there was an old air corridor which was left over from WW2 and we had to fly along that at 10K feet. When we got there we used to go out on the town and the engineers who worked at the airport used to sell us crates of 24 beers for £5. Happy days.
When we lived in Germany we were driving north of Hannover and found Auchswitz indicated by one of the brown tourist attraction signs, seemed very incongruous.
I understand what you're saying, Zebo, but it's visited by millions every year and the relatives and descendents of those who perished at or survived Auschwitz want it kept open so that the horrors that took place there are never forgotten.
♪ Happy Anniversary to you both ♪
Thanks Mamya x
