How important is it to deregister a lost Kindle? I think I left mine in a hotel last week.
Once it’s deregistered can you re-register if you find it?
Amazon says you should deregister and let them know it’s lost.
Can anyone buy stuff on my account?

Knowing me I’d find it soon afterwards

I a bit worried about this bit though, woof.

//Note that deregistering your Kindle wipes all books, apps and content you purchased with that account.//
All your purchases are still in your Amazon account and your can send them to a new device. You can look back to purchases from 2010.

Thanks, sycamore and woof.
Have you contacted the hotel? Hopefully if you left it someone might have handed it in
