Song When Scattering Ashes.
29 Answers
I'm going with family next week whilst they scatter a relatives ashes. One person said they were going to sing Now Is The Hour, rather than sing a hymn or say a prayer. Is this a good idea folks? What do you think? I just have my doubts if it's appropriate, but if they want to do it, then I'll go along with it.

I can understand why you are not sure ( pressure to do the right thing: OK joke coming up: and where you live, smacking two turks over the heead and trying to steal their car is the right thing - hur hur hur - joke ! joke !)
sorry about the loss - if you have come this far, it has to be some time ago and time heals
and it is the right thing because
you have and action ( scattering) and words ( song-hymn) and they have more significance than that ( = ritual).
( at a marriage where I was best man, the groom mentioned I read the bible in Greek and the minister said - oh he can conduct part of the service if he wants. ( low church) - and I squealed that it was not appropriate I wasnt ordained, was a sinner, credit was bad and so on. And now twenty years later, I can see that, they wanted someone who knew his bible to get involved)
sing your loudest and celebrate his life !
