GP service in the NHS has been deterioratin g for many years now and is getting worse. Many reasons and it is difficult to precis them for a social media website. It seems to me things are improving, but perhaps I'm just lucky. Okay, I sometimes have to wait a few days for an appointment (although I'm sure if I used the 'emergency' card I would be seem more quickly. I recently needed a specific test doing and expected to wait weeks given my work commitments but they said '"how about this Sunday morning". And yesterday I got a phone call saying I'm due for my lifestyle health check as I've reached a certain age milestone and would tomorrow be convenient- so now done all within 24 hours without me even asking
there was a report on Midlands Today concerning the closure of a 4000-patient practice in Shropshire. the practice is managed, like many in the area, by a private company IMH Ltd, who are themselves owned by a parent based in the Bahamas.

essentially the company aren't making enough money from the practice and have allowed their NHS contract to expire. a common problem in the midlands, apparently.
