Hello,

I recently spilled liquid on my laptop and I am hoping to get the repair costs claimed from insurance. However, the laptop was bought in my father's company's name. I was wondering if I should send in additional proof of some kind (eg. photos of me with the laptop showing the serial number) to prove that I am the user? (The insurance company itself has not asked me for such proof yet but I am afraid they might reject the claim when they see that the purchase was not in my name).

Will appreciate any help!

Thank you.

Cannot the company make a claim?

Sorry, for more context - I am studying in the UK while my father (and the company) are in India. But that is a good suggestion! Thank you. I will look into that.
then the insurance contract is in in India
but never mind, as a result of our glorious empire, the law will be virtually the same

the person named in the insurance contract really has to claim - and in the place were the contract was made.

for what you pay in premiums, I have never found it worth it except for insuring against very large claims - ( house burns down with people inside etc)
