Trouble Eating Solid Foods.
15 Answers
This is causing a major major problem at home and is stressing me beyond belief. It’s slowly got worse and I honestly don’t know why. I’m ok eating tins of soup cup a soups, porridge, yoghurts, milk and milkshakes, build up drinks, jelly etc, but when it comes to a full blown knife and fork meal I just find it too much. I can even eat omelettes but not a lot more.
Nobody’s barely spoken to me all weekend as they think there is absolutely no excuse for this, and tbh I really don’t know why. I just find it too much.
Feeling very fed up.....

If you maintain your weight and can do the things you need to do you might find taking the pressure off is all you need. BTW eating disorders (not just the ones everyone knows about) often develop from periods where you need to feel in control so if things are not better after a couple of weeks its worth asking for a referral to a counsellor.
Ask your family to back off they wont be helping

A few years ago I had the same problem, couldn't eat, didn't want to eat. Lucky if I had a sandwich. This went on for a while, I lost a lot of weight and basically felt that I didn't want to get up. It was horrible. Then I was diagnosed with pernicious anemia, started taking the shots, and yes I supplement with vitamins but the difference was amazing. I still have times when I really don't want to eat anything but it's few and far between. I know this is not advice but it helps to know you're not the only one.
I'd pop and see the GP and be really honest about everything going on and see what they think. They can check over anything needed medically and monitor anything appropriate. Especially with other health issues you've mentioned.
It is likely to be taking a big toll on you physically with all the things you've been dealing with over a long period, your problems sleeping and with food and medical things on top.
How would you feel about seeing a therapist generally? You have had so much going on that maybe it could help to just be able to take some time out and just talk to someone impartial, have your time to just go and let it all out. They may even be able to help you work out some reasons for things, triggers and techniques which might help.
You need to do it for you, but could it also help to appease your family, if they can see that you are taking steps to make sure that you're looking after yourself?
