Grace Millane Murder Trail
Does anyone know if the trial has taken place yet?
I wonder how long it takes in New Zealand for somebody to stand trial for a murder which would appear to be fairly cut and dried.

Therefore the case against him needs to be super-convincing, so they must be spending a while gathering all the necessary evidence to make the case.
It's not unheard-of for obvious crimes to still take a while to come to court, sadly.

in the good old days ( repeat story )
the case of GBH came to court in 60 d and so it was possible and often occurred that those charged were remanded in custody (*)
last week - the man charged with attempted murder was listed for trial Feb 2020.
a fellow worker was indicted for GBH and kept in Walton Gaol for the duration. Stabbing someone
day one - first hour - The judge asked the defence if the defence was gonna be self defence. In that the defendant would plead that he had taken the knife off the so called victim and shived him wivvit
and the silk said 'yes indeed my lord that IS our case'
and the judge then asked the Crown if any evidence to show the knife was the defendants - and the Crown demurred, simpering at the idea.
and the judge smacked his gavel and said screamed - "defence wins case dismissed !"
I mean they could have worked that one out 59 d previously couldnt they?
